 Forbes to Ride at Head of Rolling Thunder®, Inc “Ride for Freedom” Demonstration

Congressman Forbes to Speak During Rolling Thunder Reflecting Pool Program
 

Congressman J. Randy Forbes (VA-04) will ride at the head of the 23rd Annual Rolling Thunder Memorial Day “Ride for Freedom” demonstration with the Rolling Thunder National group on Sunday, May 30, 2010 in Washington, D.C. and speak during the Reflecting Pool Program immediately following the ride. Forbes was invited to participate in the events by Rolling Thunder for his commitment to veterans’ issues in Congress.

WHO:
Rep. J. Randy Forbes (VA-04), members of Rolling Thunder and an estimated 900,000 veterans and supporters of veterans from across the country.

WHAT:
The 23rd Annual Rolling Thunder “Ride for Freedom” in support of POW/MIA and veterans issues. Congressman Forbes will ride on motorcycle at the head of the Rolling Thunder demonstration with Rolling Thunder Founder/Executive Director Sgt. Artie Muller, President Gary Scheffmeyer, Vice President Lynne Jenks, and Senior Director Art Foss, along with General Richard B. Myers, USAF (Ret.), singer Nancy Sinatra, and other Rolling Thunder VIPs. Following the conclusion of the ride, Congressman Forbes will provide remarks at the Reflecting Pool Program. WHEN:
Sunday, May 30, 2010

* Noon: Departs from Pentagon
* Approximately 12:30 p.m.: Arrives at the Lincoln Memorial
* 1:30 p.m.: Rolling Thunder Speakers Program at the Lincoln Memorial. Congressman Forbes will provide remarks.

WHERE:
“Ride For Freedom” leaves the Pentagon over the Memorial Bridge down Constitution Avenue towards the U.S. Capitol proceeding around the National Mall and ending near the Lincoln Memorial. For a map of the route, click here.
